Excellent for travel planning

I recently purchased a Shellfish Allergy Card and a Custom Allergy Card from SelectWisely for a trip to Europe. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; I found it easy to select languages and customize the card text. The cards arrived within a week, which was perfect timing. Both cards are professionally translated and laminated, very sturdy. I used the Shellfish card at a restaurant in Italy, and the chef understood immediately, which was a huge relief. The custom card was for a less common allergy and it was handled perfectly. They even offer digital versions, which is a nice backup. It really helped reduce stress around eating out.

Lifesaver for my trip!

I bought a Penicillin Allergy Card and a Diabetes Medical Alert Card before my trip, and they were amazing! So easy to order, and they came so fast. The quality was great, super durable. Made me feel so much safer traveling. I will absolutely buy from them again!

Good cards, slow shipping

I ordered a Celiac Disease Gluten Free Card and a Peanut Allergy Card for an upcoming trip. The translation quality seems excellent, and the cards themselves are well-laminated and feel durable, which is important for travel. My main gripe was the shipping time; it took about 8 days to arrive, which felt a bit long. Customer service was helpful when I inquired about the delay, but it would be better if the estimated delivery was more accurate upfront. Value for money is decent, especially if you get a bundle.

Are the cards actually waterproof? I'm worried about it getting ruined if I spill something on it or it rains while I'm out.

L Linda E. 1 week ago
Totally waterproof! Mine got soaked in my bag from a leaky water bottle and was perfectly fine. That lamination is no joke.

Yeah, they're laminated well. Spilled coffee on mine once, wiped it right off, good as new.

How do these actually work in a restaurant? Do you just hand it to the waiter?

B Ben 1 week ago
Pretty much! You hand it to them, and they usually take it to the kitchen to show the chef. It makes it super clear what you can't eat.

Yeah, I just show it to the server. Most of the time they're really appreciative because it avoids any misunderstandings. It's way easier than trying to explain in broken language.

I'm debating between SelectWisely and Equal Eats for my shellfish allergy card. Anyone have experience with both, or a strong preference?

B Betty Jones 5 days ago
I've only used SelectWisely, but I've been happy with them. The lamination is super durable. My friend uses Equal Eats and likes them too, so it might just come down to personal preference on design.

SelectWisely cards feel really sturdy, which is a plus when you're traveling a lot. Haven't tried Equal Eats myself.

Can I get a card with more than one allergy on it? My daughter has both egg and dairy.

E Elizabeth Anderson 5 days ago
Yep, you can customize them. I have a card for nuts and sesame all on one. You just pick the custom option.

They let you add multiple allergens on one card, which is super helpful. I think there's a limit but it's pretty generous.

Are these cards actually translated by real people, or is it just Google Translate stuff? Wanna make sure it's accurate for my kid's celiac card.

A Abigail Scott 4 weeks ago
They say on their site that it's professional translators, not just a machine. Mine looked really good and got the message across in France.

From what I remember, they use actual translators. My dairy card for Japan was spot on, no issues at all.
